HiFi is an umbrella term, usually for desktop audiophile and audio products, made with the enthusiast in mind. It usually is not associated with IEMS and Headphones, or portables and most HiFi enthusiasts rely on speakers, most of the time stereo systems for most of their listening. Subwoofers can be part of HiFi, but surround systems are usually not considered HiFi, although I will add Surround systems here as well, to make the hobby more fun for everyone. HiFi means high fidelity.
