Bring Out The Big Boy – LavriCables Grand Silver 8 Core Multistrand litz 6N AWG20 Cryo Cable
Lavricables Grand silver 8 Cores is a $1166 USD / 1007 Euro for 2 meters cable for headphones, with a MultiStrand litz 6N AWG20 Cryo construction that will be the start of today’s review. Given the price point, the main pairings will be with HIFIMAN Susvara (6000 USD), HIFIMAN Susvara Unveiled (8000 USD), and thanks to the special adapters improved and designed by Lavri, with Erzetich Mania V2024 (1249 USD), DCA Dan Clark Expanse (3999 USD).
Introduction
Lavricables is one of the titans in the audio industry when it comes to quality, reliability, and price / performance ratio for cables. They created some of the cables that I am using daily, including the LAvriCables Grand Silver V2 which I am using with HIFIMAN Susvara, Susvara Unveiled and even DCA Expanse, with the use of the pigtail adapters. Lavricables in general are cables that bring a significant audio boost to your system while offering a far improved ergonomic and usage for your headphones.

Build Quality – Design
LavriCables Grand Silver 8 Core is a rather thick and reliable cable, with an internal construction designed originally for HIFIMAN Headphones, including Arya, HE1000SE, Susvara, Audivina and Isvarna. This cable has 3.5mm connectors at the headphone side, with a selection of source plugs including 6.3mm, XLR, 4.4mm, 3.5mm and even 2.5mm. Lavri makes a huge effort to include connectors from as many companies as possible, so the list includes Aeco and Neutrik, with possibilities for more connectors if you ask.
Lavri offers a Burn In service, and you can get the 8-core version of the Grand Silver with Silk Sleeving or no sleeving, a Transparent heatsink for the Y split, or the version we have, which is the Lavricables Carbon, and you can get this cable in the Transparent version or the Baltic Grey version which we have in our review. Skin effect or the microphonic effect is reduced via separately enameled litz silver cores.
All Lavricables are handmade, with 8 Cores of AWG20 Multistrand Litz Cryo Treated 6N Purity Silver Wires, soldered with Mundorf Supreme Silver 9.5% audio solder, and with graphene groups placed in the center of the wire for more precision in the vocals and a wider sound. Woven Litz construction is considered ideal for the best RFI and EMI rejection, and it provides a low capacitance, and 6N silver transmits signals faster and with a lower distortion than OFC wires.
On a subjective level, this is an ergonomic but quite thick and heavy cable. Despite it being rather chunky and heavy it is fairly flexible, has zero handling noise and I find it to be considerably better than the 4 Core of the same cable, when it comes to ergonomics, comfort and overall usability. It is free of EMI and RFI, and I even torture tested the cable, by placing it on top of PSUs, Routers and other power cables to see if it stays clean, and indeed it is very clean. I also allowed it over 200 hours of burn-in to make sure I am getting the same sound as you would get from it after having had it for more than a month.
Sound Quality
Pairings – To test the LavriCable Grand Silver 8-Core Cable I have paired it with HIFIMAN Susvara, HIFIMAN Susvara Unveiled. I actually wanted to do more pairings, but I feel that a cable of this price point, sonic quality and overall caliber would best be paired with flagship-grade headphones. It will naturally work equally well for HIFIMAN HE1000 Unveiled, Arya Oranic, Ananda Nano and most headphones that use a 3.5mm connector at the headphone side, but it is basically made for flagships, especially the 8-Core variant we’re reviewing today. Thanks to the pigtail adapters made by Lavricables, I was able to pair it with other flagships too, including Erzetich Mania V2024 and DCA Dan Clark Expanse. Those also sound excellent using the Grand silver 8-Core having their qualities enhanced by the cable.
Overall Signature – Lavri Grand Silver is a cable made of silver, and it is built like a tank, but sounds like the most refined, most precise mechanism, it is incredibly clean, crisp, revealing and detailed, all without sounding harsh, grainy or losing focus. I love how it can reveal and render every single bit of information in my songs, all whilst making them musical, clean, fatigue-free, but bright and airy. It enhances the soundstage, projects music better in the lateral plane, makes voices and the midrange in general rich and musically cohesive, and it gives music a pleasing, yet high-end revealing presentation. I would call it perfectly transparent, as far as the tonality goes, it is a touch brighter, more airy, more open sounding than most cables out there, but not colored, it is incredibly transparent, balanced and crisp.
Tonality – Depending on how many cables you’ve heard to date, LAvriCables Grand Silver 8-Core will sound crisp, but tonally transparent. It tends to enhance and emphasize the upper treble, reveals micro details in music really well, gives music a rich midrange, and bass feels tighter, more controlled when listening through it. It feels like it makes music a bit more open, a bit brighter, and snappier, more crisp and with a tighter bass. I like this a lot, because as the bass gets tighter, the bass extension gets better, it has less distortion, it is more precise and more thumpy, with more sub-bass rumble. Basically, Grand Silver 8-Core does exactly everything I would ever want it to do, adding depth, width, richness and making music more engaging, more brilliant.
Dynamics / PRaT / Textures – There’s a strong sense of richness with the LavriCables Grand silver 8Core, it gives music an organic, pleasing texture, but it does reveal all the texture in music without a smoothing effect. I like this a lot and I find it to be a good effect, it makes music easily enjoyable, without damping the resolution, and in fact, LavriCables 8Core is one of the most detailed, sharpest and most revealing cables I have heard to date. It can reveal micro details really well, which results in a fairly strong texture, but it also has a slightly wet character which chamfers the hard edges in textures, resulting in the organic richness it can bring to music.
Soundstage – If you enjoy wide, holographic and a vivid imaging, you will immediately love the LavriCables Grand silver 8-Core, it is a cable that really highlights space, it increases the lateral separation between instruments, layering and it gives music one of the best stereo imaging and layerings that I’ve heard to date. It is so vivid and realistic that it feels transparent more than it feels colored, and despite the large gauge / thickness of the cable, sonically it is refined, slightly gentle, and musical.
Value and Conclusion
For the price of the Lavry Cable Grand Silver 8 Core Cable you can buy some good headphones, so it is a cable made only for flagship headphones, and LavriCables has many more affordable cables in their store. I recommend considering the Grand Silver 8 Core only if you have a pair of flagship headphones you really like, including HIFIMAN Susvara or Susvara Unveiled, if you want to experience them at the best sonic quality they have to offer, and with the highest level of comfort possible. This one cable from Lavri Cables surely has a premium pricing, but it is a premium product, the culmination of all their works, offering exactly the kind of sound I find best.
At the end of the day, LavriCables Grand Silver 8 Core offers precision, resolution, revealing ability, transparency, and it sounds excellent, is ergonomic and in my mind it is one of the best cables I could ever recommend you to purchase, especially if you have flagship headphones and want to complete their sound.
