Sivga M300 Dynamic Driver Earbuds Review – FlatHead Ebony Wood Golden Sound

Sivga M300 Dynamic Driver Earbuds Review – FlatHead Ebony Wood Golden Sound

Sivga M300 is a $65 USD pair of Earbuds designed around a large 15.4mm Large Dynamic Driver and the idea of no internal contact with your ears. Today we will review Sivga M300 and see how they stand against the world and where the sound is at.

Introduction

Sivga is one of the most popular Chifi companies out there, and while they focus mainly on headphones, together with their other half part brand, Sendy Audio, the M300 model we review today is a pair of earbuds, the kind that don’t go inside your ears. If anything, I find it disrespectful that the Drive Word editor I am using is trying to replace Sivga with Sigma, as Sivga so I apologize if it manages to do this at any point in this review.

Build Quality – Design

Sivga M300 is a simple pair of earbuds but with a superb design, which is part of why I wanted to review them in the first place. M 300 features a large 15.4mm dynamic driver at the core, with a high-purity OFC Coil and a single-piece graphene-coated diaphragm.

Housing of those IEMS is made of African Ebony Wood, which has an optimized acoustic performance, and also is known for being durable and scratch-resistant. The main body is made of CNC-Machined Aviation Aluminum Alloy, which makes them very light, and which is wear-resistant, but this also indicates that the golden color you see in my photos is painted over and might peel away / get damaged in time.

With a high-purity silver-plated OFC cable, Sivga M 300 looks and feels premium, it has 0.06mm x 7Cores x 7Strands for this cable, and it feels as premium as most Sivga cables. Inside the package you will find the M300 Earbuds, three sets of foam eartips, an Oxford Fabric Transport case and a user manual. M300 has a weight of 29 grams, a SPL of 109 dB, but a very high impedance of 64 OHMs with a deviation of + – 15%.

Subjective Usage

As with most earbuds I reviewed to date, I have no seal, and very low fitting with the M300. This is more of a Me problem than anything else, and it is part of why I started audiophile-heaven really early on, but my ears simply don’t work well with this style of earbuds. This means that for most of this review I will be holding an M300 with my hands in my ears.

Earbuds generally offer no passive noise isolation, fitting is very loose and they are comfortable for certain users but my ears never worked anatomically with them. This being said, M300 was just too beautiful in wood + golden accents for me to miss reviewing. For M300 in particular, the shells are ligther than the cable, so I would recommend trying to wear them over-the-ear if they are pulled out too easily by the cable.

Sound Quality

Pairings – To drive the M300 I have paired them with a selection of sources including Rose Technics RT-5000, Dethonray Clarinet, iBasso DX340, Lotoo PAW GT2, FiiO K15, FiiO QX13, and Cayn RU9. Despite the unusually high impedance, they have an unusually high SPL too, so the M300 is easy to drive for the most part and does really well with portable dongle DAC AMPs as well as smartphones that have a 3.5mm headphone output. The high impedance actually filters noise and makes them work even better with noisy, low power sources as long as they produce enough voltage, and most do just that.

Overall Signature – Sivga M300 has a warm, mid centric, sweet sound with a wide soundstage and a pleasinly voicing that works well for both female and male voices. As I have to mostly hold them manually inside of my ears, I cannot really tell the precise size of the soundstage, but it is really wide nonetheless. There is no passive noise isolation even if you have a good fit, so listening to higher volumes is likely if you’re in a noisy environment.

Tonality – Sivga M300 has a mid centric, sweet sound. They have bass extension down to about 50 Hz, with the bass below this frequency having a roll-off effect. Midrange is super sweet, pleasing, emphasizes both male and female voices. Instruments are sweet and presented with a warm and slightly thick sound to them, M300 reproduces wooden sounds nicely and gives all instruments substance and presence. It is good at creating contrast and resolution, definition layers.

Dynamics And Textures – M300 has an organic, clean presentation that is free from fatigue or sounding cold, it instead sounds warm, a bit thick with a slightly too thick texture, but great for all music styles. Dynamic is a bit compressed, which allows details to be more easily revealed and gives music a realistic presentation.

Loudness Saturation Gradient – M300 handles high volumes really well, but as there is no passive noise isolation, you have to usually increase the volume to cancel ambient noise, so basically they sound great at lower volumes too, but you’re not likely to even listen at lower volumes with them unless in your own bedroom at night.

Soundstage – Sivga M-300 is great for sounding wide, big and powerful, they have a nice separation and definition, but you need a good seal for this to happen, so if earbuds in general work well with your ears, you will get a fairly wide, and deep soundstage.

Value and Conclusion

Sivga M300 really looks and sounds interesting, so if your ears work with earbuds, they can be a very good deal, considering the nice transport case and high quality cable they come with as well.

At the end of the day, if you’re looking for a premium pair of earbuds with excellent build quality, a nice design, and a high-quality cable, very low price, but a transport case and a warm, organic sound, you will love Sivga M300 and the quality they provide.
