ddHiFi TC01A, TC01C Type-C Adapters Review – Small, Efficient, Useful
Ddhifi TC01A and TC01C are $9 USD USB Type-C to Type-A adapters, they have a simple titanium body, and it feels like a challenge to see how short of a review I can make when a product is this simple, yet useful and sometimes needed for an audio setup.
Introduction
ddHiFi makes audio accessories, sometimes affordable and sometimes super affordable. The ones we review today are 10 USD a piece, less than a bucket of chicken nuggets but will be good to use for years – decades even, unless the Type-c and Type-A USB standards run out of fashion.

Build Quality – Design
The idea of the ddHIFI TC01A and TC01C is quite simple, those are adapters that can change a Type-A to Type-C or a Type-C to Type-A USB connectors. There are even Type-C to Type-B adapters available from DD HIFI.
You can purchase those both because there are countless products that need adapters, even outside of audio, but also because there is demand, people have some fairly good cables and don’t want to replace the entire cable, so an adapter can be a quick fix for your needs.
Both TC01A and TC01C use gold plated connectors, full metal cashing with CNC machined unibody, and both have high-speed transmission performance. This means that with TC01A you can have speeds up to USB3.0 and with TC01C you can have speeds up to USB3.1. Those ara adapters that weight 3.5 grams and 5.0 grams.
Quality
There isn’t much to speak about sonically, there will be no sonic degradation when using the TC 01 C and TC 01 A, and they work really well for audio and data transmission. I got around 3 of each, and can use better cables, or the lengths I require for keyboards, gaming mice, and any other piece of equipment for my computer.
There is no wiggle room, all connectors are very solid and reliable.
Value and Conclusion
You are paying 10 USD for a connector, it simply works, and the value is excellent. Speed is not downgraded to USB 2.0 and if both your port and cable supports it, ddHIFI TC 01 A and TC 01 C are fully worth the price tag.
At the end of the day, those are adapters that I would keep around just in case, but I got a couple connected to my PC as sometimes the cable length does not coincide with the cable connector that I desire most for that setup.
